1,2. Lineage of teachers :

1."Om brahmā devānām prathamaḥ sambabhūva 

viśvasya kartā bhuvanasya goptā, 

sa brahma-vidyāṁ sarva-vidyā-pratiṣṭhām 

arthavāya jyeṣṭha-putrāya prāha."

"Of the Gods, Brahmaji the  Creator and the protector of the universe was self=born first. He gave out the knowledge of Reality (Brahma Vidya), the knowledge of  all knowledges, the foundation for all sciences, to his own eldest son Athaeva."

2."Artharvaṇe yām pravadeta brahmātharvā 

tām purovācāṅgire brahma-vidyām, 

sa bhāradvājāya satyavahaye

prāha bhāradvājo’ngirase parāvarām."

"The very knowledgewhich Brahmaji taught to Atharva, he taught to Angiin ancient days and he taught to Rishi Satyavaha- of the Bharadvaja clan and Satyavahataught it to Angira -mthe knowledge was so handed  down from the greater(teacher) to the lesser (disciple)."
